How the shape is constructed

Front, back and two side gussets form a tube with a longitudinal seam on the back. The block bottom has triangles, ears and overlapping bottom flaps. Top turn-ins reinforce front and back; matching handle holes are provided through wall and turn-in.

How it is assembled

Fold the front and back top turn-ins inwards and glue. Glue the longitudinal seam to the inside of the back to form a tube. Fold the bottom triangles inwards, fold the ears along the diagonals onto the bottom flaps, fold over the rear bottom flap first and then the front one and glue the overlap. Insert the bottom insert.

What to consider for this construction

Glue flap

Width of the glue flap used to glue the blank into a tube. The material requires a minimum width.

Bottom flap overlap

Glue overlap of the front bottom flap over the rear bottom flaps; no more than 40 % of the gusset depth.

Top turn-in

Strip at the top edge of front and back that is folded inwards and reinforces the handle holes.

Handle holes

Die-cut handle holes centred in front and back, through wall and top turn-in.

Handle hole width

Handle hole width; no more than 70 % of the bag width.

Frequently asked questions

Which input describes the side gusset?

For the starting inside dimension 240 × 100 × 320 mm, the second value is gusset depth. The first is bag width, the third height. The flat sheet dimensions are calculated from these with material allowance, bottom, longitudinal seam and top turn-in. Do not confuse gusset depth with top turn-in height.

Why does the bag need a top turn-in?

carrierTurnIn describes the front and back strips that are folded inwards and glued. They reinforce the handle hole area. Hole height, bridge and margin must fit inside. This geometric reinforcement does not confirm load capacity; check the assembled bag with target paper and contents.

Are additional handles and a bottom insert included?

No. The template generates the bag blank including optional die-cut handle holes. Bottom insert and handles are separate parts. The assembly description includes inserting bottom reinforcement. Its actual design and material must be agreed separately to suit bottom assembly and actual loading.
