This template is a component of a packaging assembly. Match its dimensions to the other parts; lids, bases, wraps and linings serve different purposes.

01

How it is assembled

Fold the walls at the grooves until the rear wall meets the right wall; close the joint with tape and wrap. Place the wrapped neck in the wrapped base and glue it to the inside faces of the walls.

02

Material and grain direction

Grain direction of greyboard and wrapping paper parallel to the blank's x-axis: the long grooves fold cleanly, and board and paper do not warp against each other during lamination (check with the box manufacturer).

Test fit, folding and closure on a sample made from the intended material. Confirm material thickness, grain direction and production steps with your printer.

Bottles need correctly sized openings, separation and secure carrying. Compare carriers, dividers and rigid gift packaging. Test the full construction with filled bottles.

What to consider for this construction

Butt joint gap

Walls placed between the long walls are shorter by this value at each joint to prevent jamming during erection.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the neck strip 80 mm high?

The 20 mm neck height describes the protrusion above the base, not the entire strip height. With a base inside height of 60 mm, this produces an 80 mm neck strip. It reaches down to the base and is glued to its inside walls. Check actual seating after wrapping; adhesive application and turn-ins can affect support.

How does this lid differ from a telescopic lid?

The neck box lid fits over the wrapped neck and rests on the base. It therefore does not need to fit over the entire base outside dimension. The model derives its inside dimensions from the base inside dimension and clearance. A lid from the lid and base box uses a different relationship and cannot be adopted unchanged.

Why is the neck cross-section smaller than the base interior?

The base contains wrapping paper, and the neck is also wrapped. The model therefore subtracts four paper thicknesses from the base inside dimension before determining the neck's outside cross-section. Two board thicknesses are also subtracted for the neck interior. With different paper, the whole assembly must be recalculated; check installation with the actual wrapped parts.
