How the shape is constructed

The body uses the reverse tuck-end carton design. The front has a tear-out window with perforation and thumb notch. V2 adds an optional hanging hole; it is disabled in the starting example.

How it is assembled

As with the tuck-end carton: glue the glue flap to the back, erect the carton, close the bottom, fill and close the lid. To open, press in the thumb notch and tear out the window along the perforation.

What to consider for this construction

Glue flap

Width of the glue flap used to glue the blank into a tube. The material requires a minimum width.

Glue flap angle

Bevel at the ends of the glue flap; aids folding and erection.

Tuck depth

How deeply the tuck flap enters the box; at most about half the width (height for a mailer).

Tuck flap radius

Corner radius of the tuck flap; limited by half the flap width or tuck depth.

Tuck flap shoulder

Side inset of the tuck flap relative to the lid for easy insertion.

Frequently asked questions

How is the dispensing opening made?

The front has a perforated tear-out window with an optional thumb notch. After pressing in the notch, the window is removed along the perforation. Width, height and position are set as proportions of the front. The construction starts as a closed reverse tuck-end carton; the contents are only removed through the new opening after tearing it out.

How close can the window be to the crease?

Window and tear tab must fit within the front. The construction maintains a bridge of 5 mm. Window height and position depend on each other: a tall window shifted upwards may be invalid. dispenserWindowHeight.fitsFront checks this relationship. Also test whether the product stays securely in the carton after opening.

Can the carton be hung up?

V2 adds the hanging hole option. The starting value is none, with no hole and no additional header. When enabled, hole shape and header dimensions belong to the parameter set; MFG-009 checks the remaining bridge at the hole. This does not approve a filled dispenser's load capacity, which requires a load test with the target material.
