Folding cartons / JETDIELINE

Straight tuck-end box

Blank, creases and flaps are calculated from inside dimensions. The results are artwork PDF, production dieline and production sheet for the printer.

How the shape is constructed

From left to right: glue flap, left side, front, right side and back. Both tuck flaps are on the front. Dust flaps are on the sides.

How it is assembled

Pre-fold the blank along all creases. Glue the glue flap to the inside of the opposite wall and lay the box flat. To fill, erect it, fold in dust flaps and insert tuck flaps.

Material and grain direction

Grain direction parallel to height (check)

Test fit, folding and closure on a sample made from the intended material. Confirm material thickness, grain direction and production steps with your printer.

These dimensions describe the preview, not a fixed packaging size. The app recalculates the dieline for your own dimensions.

What to consider for this construction

Glue flap

Width of the glue flap used to glue the blank into a tube. The material requires a minimum width.

Glue flap angle

Bevel at the ends of the glue flap; aids folding and erection.

Tuck depth

How deeply the tuck flap enters the box; at most about half the width (height for a mailer).

Tuck flap radius

Corner radius of the tuck flap; limited by half the flap width or tuck depth.

Tuck flap shoulder

Side inset of the tuck flap relative to the lid for easy insertion.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between straight and reverse?

In a straight tuck-end box, both tuck flaps are on the front. In the reverse construction, the bottom flap is on the back. This changes closure and the reading direction of individual panels. Check artwork and filling workflow on the appropriate construction.

What inside dimensions do I need for a 50-ml jar?

Fill volume does not determine the jar's outside dimensions. Measure diameter and total height including closure. Required clearance depends on insertion, material and a possible insert. Finished inside dimensions cannot be stated without this information; confirm them on a sample.

How large must the glue flap be?

Parameter range and starting value are in the table. The material profile's minimum also matters. Adhesive, production workflow and material can impose further requirements. MFG-001 flags a narrow glue flap; confirm final width with your printer.
