How the shape is constructed

From left to right come the glue flap, left side, front, right side and back. Both tuck flaps sit on the front. The dust flaps are on the sides.

How it is assembled

Pre-break the blank along all creases. Glue the glue flap to the inside of the opposite wall and lay the box flat. For filling, erect it, fold in the dust flaps and insert the tuck flaps.

Material and grain direction

Grain direction parallel to height (check)

Test fit, folding and closure on a sample made from the intended material. Confirm material thickness, grain direction and production steps with your printer.

Inside dimension

These dimensions describe the preview, not a fixed packaging size. The app recalculates the dieline for your own dimensions.

What to consider for this construction

Glue flap

Width of the glue flap used to glue the blank into a tube. The material requires a minimum width.

Glue flap angle

Angled ends of the glue flap; make folding and erection easier.

Tuck depth

How far the tuck flap extends into the box; at most about half the width (the height for a mailer).

Tuck flap radius

Corner radius of the tuck flap; limited by half the flap width or tuck depth.

Tuck flap shoulder

Side inset of the tuck flap relative to the lid, to allow easy insertion.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between straight and reverse?

On the straight tuck-end carton, both tuck flaps sit on the front. In the reverse construction, the lower flap sits on the back. This changes the closure and reading direction of individual panels. Check the artwork and filling workflow on the appropriate construction.

Which inside dimension do I need for a 50-ml jar?

The fill volume does not determine the jar's outside dimensions. Measure the diameter and total height including the closure. Required clearance depends on insertion, material and any insert. A finished inside dimension cannot be stated without this information; confirm it on the sample.

How large must the glue flap be?

The parameter range and starting value appear in the table. The minimum in the material profile is also decisive. Adhesive, production workflow and material may impose further requirements. MFG-001 flags a glue flap that is too narrow; confirm the final width with your printer.
