Glue flap
Width of the glue flap used to glue the blank into a tube. The material requires a minimum width.
Special carton shapes / JETDIELINE
The hinged lid sits on the back wall and places its front wall over the outside of the front. A lid tab passes through a slot in the front; a tuck bottom closes the base. This page shows version 2 with the hanging hole disabled. The technical core calculates lid overhang, flaps and creases from the chosen dimensions and material profile.

carton.hinged.lidFour walls and a glue flap form the sleeve. The lid connects to the back and carries an overlapping front wall with a tuck flap. The corresponding front slot sits at the lid overhang height. Upper dust flaps close beneath the lid; dust flaps and a separate tuck closure sit at the bottom.
Pre-break the blank along all creases, glue the glue flap to the inside of the back and lay the carton flat. Erect it for filling and close the bottom with dust flaps and the tuck flap. After filling, fold in the upper dust flaps, close the lid, place the lid’s front wall over the front and insert the tuck flap into the slot.
Grain direction parallel to height: wall creases lengthwise, lid and bottom creases crosswise; the lid stays stiff and its front wall lies flat against the front (check with the test printer).
Test fit, folding and closure on a sample made from the intended material. Confirm material thickness, grain direction and production steps with your printer.
Inside dimension
These dimensions describe the preview, not a fixed packaging size. The app recalculates the dieline for your own dimensions.
Width of the glue flap used to glue the blank into a tube. The material requires a minimum width.
Angle at the ends of the glue flap; makes folding and erection easier.
How far the tuck flap reaches into the box; at most about half the width (the height for a mailer).
Corner radius of the tuck flap; limited by half the flap width or tuck depth.
Side inset of the tuck flap relative to the lid, allowing easy insertion.
The lid connects to the back through a crease. When closed, its front wall overlaps the outside of the front. Its tuck flap passes through the front slot. The lower tuck closure belongs to a separate bottom structure; it is not part of the rear lid hinge.
lidOverhang describes the height of the lid’s front wall and thus the position of the slot in the front. The overhang must not exceed half the carton height. Adjust it together with tab width and insertion depth. Check on the sample whether the front wall sits flat and the tab engages securely in the slot.
The starting value slitWidth=0 denotes a knife cut. A positive width produces a die-cut slot whose opening must suit the machine profile. The front slot is 2 mm longer than the lid tab is wide. Confirm with your printer and a closure sample whether the knife cut suits the target board.
