How the shape is constructed

Corrugated shipping box for retail and online shipping: bottom as on the slotted box, fully overlapping outer flaps at the top; the outer flap has a self-adhesive strip for closing and a tear strip with tear tape for opening.

How it is assembled

Glue the glue flap, erect the box, close the bottom with inner and outer flaps and tape it shut. After filling, fold in the upper inner flaps, lay down the back's outer flap, remove the release liner and press the front flap over it. To open, grip the tear tape at the flap edge and tear out the strip.

02

Material and grain direction

Flute direction parallel to the height: stable when stacked (check with the test print shop).

Test fit, folding and closure on a sample made from the intended material. Confirm material thickness, grain direction and production steps with your printer.

What to consider for this construction

Glue flap

Width of the glue flap used to glue the blank into a tube. The material requires a minimum width.

Glue flap angle

Angle at the ends of the glue flap; makes folding and erection easier.

Flap gap

Gap between adjacent flaps or walls; at least about the material thickness.

Adhesive strip width

Width of the self-adhesive strip on the outer lid flap; it bonds the flap to the flap underneath.

Adhesive strip distance

Distance of the adhesive strip from the flap's free edge (0 = flush with the edge).

Frequently asked questions

What does the dieline show of the tear tape?

The two perforations are included as geometry; the tear tape is an annotation. The dieline therefore defines the intended position. It confirms neither tear tape material nor application process or opening force. These details must be checked in the production sample and with the company carrying out the work.

Why do the strips not fit small formats?

Tear strip, safety distance and adhesive strip share the upper outer flap. With a small inside width, this area may become too short. The constraint stripsFitOuterFlap therefore limits the tear strip distance. Adjust the dependent parameters together rather than pushing the lines together after export.

Can the lid be closed again after opening?

This V1 models a self-seal closure with one tear strip. A second adhesive strip for returns is not provided as a separate parameter. A return closure therefore cannot be promised from this construction. For a reopenable tuck closure, there is the mailer with locking tabs.
