Associated files and checksums identify the output to which approval refers. Later changes belong to a new revision, while the earlier version remains traceable. A checksum confirms file identity, not the technical correctness of its contents. Before recording the version, check preview, production sheet and open findings. Agree with your printer who approves production and what that approval covers.
