Inside dimension
The inside dimension describes usable space inside assembled packaging.

It is the appropriate starting point when the product must fit inside. It is neither the box's outside dimension nor directly the distance between crease lines. Material thickness and allowance connect these dimension references. Explicitly state reference and unit with every dimension. Also allow the clearance needed for insertion and removal. Check that clearance using product and sample rather than the drawing alone.
