Glossary / JETDIELINE
The blank is the unfolded workpiece from which the packaging is made.
It includes the future panels, tabs and flaps. Creases connect areas that are folded against each other during assembly. The blank differs from its bounding rectangle: the rectangle also includes areas outside the actual contour. Different figures therefore apply to material requirements and processing. A paper prototype helps you understand the folding sequence; to assess fit, you also need the intended material.
