Glossary / JETDIELINE
An up is a single placement of a blank on a production sheet.
Multiple ups distribute the same or different blanks across the available area. Margins, spacing, grain direction and machine requirements limit the arrangement. A calculation with bounding rectangles differs from nesting the actual contours. The method used must be identifiable in a metric. Use utilisation as a basis for discussion; without further production data, it is not yet authoritative costing by your printer.
