card.foldThe finished format describes the folded card. In the starting example, the back and front cover sit side by side with a vertical crease between them. A roll fold adds a shortened inner flap. A gate fold divides the front into two wings with a gap in the middle.
Roll fold: fold in the inner flap first, then place the front cover over it. Gate fold: fold both wings towards the centre. Single fold: fold in the middle. Re-crease all folds neatly.

Outside dimension
These dimensions describe the preview, not a fixed packaging size. The app recalculates the dieline for your own dimensions.
Single fold (two panels), roll fold (three panels, narrower inner flap) or gate fold (two wings meeting at the front).
Amount by which the inner flap is narrower (roll fold), or width of the gap between the wings (gate fold); at least twice the material thickness.
The dimensions refer to the folded finished format. The single fold produces two panels of equal width side by side. The starting blank is therefore 210 × 148 mm. With roll and gate folds, the blank changes despite the same finished format; create artwork only after choosing the crease type.
cardFold offers single for a single fold, roll for a roll fold and gate for a gate fold. The single fold has a front cover and back. The roll fold adds a narrower inner flap. The gate fold has a central panel and two front wings. The template calculates separate panel boundaries for each selection.
In a roll fold, the parameter shortens the inner flap. In a gate fold, it describes the gap between the wings. The required minimum inset depends on material thickness. A single fold does not need it for panel widths. Check the combination again after a material change and test closure on the sample.
