Inside dimension
The inside dimension describes the usable space within the assembled package.

It is the right starting point when the product needs to fit inside. It is neither the outside size of the box nor directly the distance between crease lines. Material thickness and allowance connect these dimension references. Explicitly state the reference and unit for every dimension. Also account for the clearance needed for insertion and removal. Check whether this clearance is sufficient using the product and a sample, rather than only the drawing.
