Glossary / JETDIELINE
The blank is the unfolded workpiece from which the package is made.
It includes the future panels and flaps. Creases connect areas that fold against one another during assembly. The blank differs from its bounding box: the rectangle also includes areas outside the actual contour. Different metrics therefore matter for material requirements and processing. A paper prototype helps you understand the folding sequence; to check fit, you also need the intended material.
